Conservation Grade Double Glazing to Cobham Family Home

Sherriff Stained Glass Specialists were tasked with overhauling 89 existing leaded light with our hand made Conservation Grade Double Glazed Units along with the refurbishment of 36 metal frames.

The first visit consisted of removing all thirty six metal framed windows so they could be restored in our workshops. Each metal frame is shot blasted back to sound metal before a Zinc Rich primer is applied along with a satin black top coat which is all baked for a hard an durable finish.

The team templated and measured 89 existing leaded lights which were then re drawn in our workshops. For each of the eighty nine units, we cut the hand blown glass down to size, tag and reference, before the lead is applied to both sides. Each lead joint is soldered and patinated to replicate a traditional leaded light.
